Making the right decision: How do I select the right waist beads during purchase?

How do you select the right waist beads?

When purchasing the right waist beads, there are quite a few things to consider:

What size are you getting?

Before you measure your waist, make sure you are in as little clothing as possible especially if you are buying the ones made with plastic, screw and clasp. Measuring over clothes will add a few inches and is likely to fall off once you wear them.

As a side note, we do not have the plastic, screw and clasp waist beads in stock as they tend to break easily especially during sex.

Waist beads are handmade with a range of bead sizes. I will advise you to pick a size that you’re most comfortable in. If you buy the extremely big sized beads, they are likely to draw in your clothes when you wear them. For most other sizes, you can be rest assured that the beads will not draw in your clothing.

What type of material do you prefer?

Waist beads can be made from various materials such as glass, wood, or metal. Consider which material you prefer, and which one will look good on you. Do any of these materials irritate your skin when it comes into contact? Think about that too and let that also guide you to pick the right material. The last thing you want is for your nice form to be marred by blisters and rashes. Check our store to see some of the different materials we have available.

Which design best suits you

Different designs of waist beads

Waist beads come in a variety of designs and colors. Think about which style and color combinations you would prefer and which ones will look good on you. Will these designs match your wardrobe and compliment your appearance or would it look awkward on you? These need to be really considered when picking the right waist beads.

What’s their purpose?

Local traditional beads

Consider the purpose of your waist beads. Are you getting them for cultural or traditional reasons,  or are you getting them for fashion and self-expression? Knowing which one would help you make that choice with relative ease.

How is the craftsmanship?

Some waist beads are poorly done and will end up tearing at the least effort. Others are well-crafted and made to last. At HYMA, we put a lot of effort into our waist beads because like you, we want them to last.

How much is it selling for?

You need to compare prices. Whatever your budget, there will always be something for you be it on the low or high end. If you have the funds to purchase the very expensive type of waist beads, go for it. If your budget allows you to go in for moderately priced waist beads, that’s also good. Don’t break your back to get something that you may not be able to afford now and don’t also cheapen yourself because you think you are getting a bargain.

What colors would fit me best?

You have a wide variety of colors to choose from. Personal advice: your pick should either be your favorite color, or a color that best compliments your skin tone. What may look good on someone, may not necessarily look good on you.

Keep this in mind, waist beads are best worn in a set of 3 or more. Wearing one strand of waist beads may or may not appeal to you but for the best kind of experience, wear 3 or more.
